Sustainable landscapes are complex environments. In a project context, sustainability is about integrating natural systems and habitat with architecture, infrastructure, and the designed landscape. These are part of and connected to the local and regional landscapes surrounding them. We believe designing sustainable landscapes begins with some basic principles. These principles lead to better building practices and healthier places.

Create Healthy Sites
Avoid damage to trees, soils, water systems, and vegetation. Create habitats and use native plants whenever possible.

Heal Injured Sites
Restore the structure of landscape; soils, water systems, habitat and topography. Choose living/natural solutions over artificial whenever possible, and reduce paving and runoff.
