This site had very little useable outdoor space with no connections between the house and deck down to the garden. The owners wanted to encourage their children’s curiosity and play opportunities and create elegant and practical spaces for living in. Phase 1 included new decks with connections to the new garden and patio space, a new front entry, and a hillside garden. Plants were selected to fit in with the existing natural landscape while attracting birds and butterflies, stabilize steep slopes, screen unwanted views and provide a beautiful and dramatic sense of place. The development of new path system throughout the site opened up access to new spaces and places to be in and play.
